If You Can’t Join Them, Tweet with Them. #PRSSANC

I speak with zero exaggeration when I share with you that #PRSSANC 2012 changed my life. Many doors were opened and friendships across the United States were made. Attending National Conference was easily one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. So, when it came around to #PRSSANC 2013 and I wasn’t attending, a feeling of sadness washed over me.

Since I couldn’t attend the conference, I knew I had to do something to be present. So what did I do? I printed off a large photo of my face, glued it to some cardboard, and put a stick on it. Wah-la! Portable RP was ready for conference! My chapter (NKU PRSSA) sent me photos of them with my cut-out throughout the weekend. The photos were pretty hilarious and they filled a little bit of my void. I did this as a joke, however it ended up being a marvelous idea. 😉

On a more serious note, #PRSSANC is a perfect example of the handiness of hashtags. Whenever I had some free time, I searched the PRSSANC hashtag and scrolled through all the tweets hoping to learn something myself. Attendees did a fabulous job sharing quotes and 140 character snippets of advice.I wouldn’t expect anything less from PR students!  Below are a handful of tweets I favorited throughout the weekend.
